With Insomnia Remedies, the IMPORTANT part is to identify *your* sleeping problem first and foremost.

Without knowing what’s causing your sleeping issues, you could end up using the wrong insomnia remedies to fix your sleeping problem.

With that said, here’s a list to give you ideas for which insomnia remedies fix which problems:

Brain Entrancement - This is best for people who don’t know what their sleeping problem is or suffer from fragmented sleep.  This trains you brain to naturally fall asleep when the time comes, and is also used to fall asleep.

Meditation - Most effective for people kept awake by chatter or anxiety.  The more serious the routine, the more effective the meditation.

Life Choices that make up 80% of most sleeping issues.  This causes people to “not know” why they can’t fall asleep, or just not be able to fall asleep when they lie down at night.

“Creative State” - Using visualization with meditation to sedate your mind.  Works for all sleeping problems, but can be hard to find adequate training (see Buddhism for more).

Self-Hypnosis / Hypnosis - Works similiarly to meditation, but usually done by listening to a professional in person or via CD.  Insomnia remedies llike this one work best for people that have anxiety.

Sleeping Tablets - If you can’t fall asleep because of a temporary problem, like in the case of having an injury that keeps you awake, these serve as great aids.

Sleeping Pills - These can help you fall asleep, but at the time of this writing, only lunesta has proven to give you better quality of sleep.

Acupressure / Acupuncture - If you are an expert in this field, look up how this can help with generic insomnia.

Medical Marijuana - if you live in a medical marijuana state or a country in which marijuana is legal, this has one of the highest success rates for putting you to sleep regardless of what kind of insomnia you have.

Sleeping “Tips” that stimulate your mind into a tired state.  These usually don’t help most people, but in your case, it may be one thing that stimulates sleep for you personally.  There have been cases where individuals need a glass of warm milk to fall asleep, or need to sniff cut up onions before being able to fall asleep.  You can find tons of these by typing “sleep tips” into google.  In general, these don’t make for very good insomnia remedies.
