Dear James,

I am a 37 year old woman suffering from insomnia due most times to chatter in my head. However, I also suffer from restless leg syndrome. The funny thing is that I have suffered from it for many years which means that it started in my early twenties. I can remember describing the feelings and sensations to people several years ago. All of whom seemed to think I had been abducted by aliens or something. It is a relief to see that it has finally been given a place in the medical arena!!! I am very impressed with the time you have taken to research all of this material which must sometimes be confusing and difficult to manuever through, seeing as how, like you said, some of it is just useless. I have found that to be the case many times over. Insomnia is a result of life choices. I think that is a very profound truth that many people need to understand. And it is also a biological problem as well. You have covered so many of the bases and that is what makes the difference. Rather than just reading an article, or going down a list of some of the newer 3 minute cures. It is essential to understand a problem from many different angles, to be able to appreciate the severity and nature of the problem. Which in essence will help us to be better equipped to tackle it with confidence. That is exactly what listening to your videos has helped me to feel. Which is more important than what it has helped me to think. I feel like, "Yeah, I can work harder on conquering my RLS, and insomnia." It has been difficult for me because I suffer from both. And it seems as though when one is absent there goes the other. But, I know that being an anxious and worried person has contributed drastically to both of the difficulties I personally have falling asleep. I am sure that RLS can be heightened by the worrying since it is directly limked to the nervous system. All of our parts are in tune with and forever intertwined with the other parts. I hope that as your videos reach more and more people, not just sleeping problems will be adressed, but the overall approach to health and healthy emotional living will be considered by your viewers. Again thank you for caring enough to make this important information available for free.

                                         Sincerely,
                                      Elizabeth Cummings

I've been experimenting with brain entrainment too and like you have found it to be an excellent aid for insomnia. In the 2 months that I have been using brainwave entrainment, I've experienced the best nights' sleep for 10 years!

Cheers,
Richard Regal

Jane recommended this book earlier. Dr. Haug is right on with his information. If you need help with your insomnia - especially if you haven't been able to figure out the cause of your insomnia - you need to read this book.

There is a lot of talk lately about causes, links and dire consequences for disturbed sleep habits. Unfortunately some of it is 'fuzzy' reporting or questionable internal logic. “Links” are by no means causal; they are statistical associations. Even the most widely acknowledged insomnia cause, STRESS is not relevant to those who are able to 'not let things bother them'. It is internal obsessive fretting that keeps our bodies over stimulated. For a habitual worrier almost anything can become a trigger. The only person whom I have found to address this truth directly and practically is Dr. Siegfried Haug in his book: I Want to Sleep – Unlearning Insomnia

I completely agree with jane on this one. You can't CURE insomnia with this. I believe the only way to cure insomnia is to do so naturally. I've been updating my guide on how to do this, so if you really want to get well rested, read this guide seriously.

Careful about CURING insomnia. You are not being served well. As undesirable as bad nights are - insomnia is NOT a disease. It is a symptom, a message that your DAYS are troublesome - not just your nights. Shooting that messenger with chemicals, organic or pharmaceutical, is a bad idea. Deep down, we know that. it is common sense. There are sleep disturbances that are caused by hormonal withdrawals (hot flashes) medication-side effects (Prednezone etc.)Do yourself a favor: read up on new literature about insomnia. Gayle Greene:Insomniac, Siegfried Haug: I want to sleep-Unlearning Insomnia, to name my favorites.

Way to take ACTION! That's awesome.

I can't tell if your sleep cycle is off due to not getting enough sunlight or if your brain just doesn't naturally generate SMR / other things that naturally cause it to begin "sleep mode".

It seems like brain entrancement might be the way to go for you. I'll send you an email about it.

Right now, my biggest insomnia problem is falling asleep. It seems once I get there, I can stay, regardless of how restless it is. That is my next problem, quality sleep. I also wake often, but usually return to sleep rather quickly. Other times, not so much. I have been known to just stay up until it's time to go to work or get the morning going. Then I will be up all day and still have a hard time getting to sleep that night!

Yeah, the milk thing doesn't really work; however, it seems it does on rare occasions.

I plan (as of today) to get more sun and drink more water (per your suggestions). I've been wanting to reorganize to get more exercise/work outs in anyway. Oddly enough, I am quite active, but not as much as I would like.

I do hang on to stress too much, have anxiety, and I refuse to give up my only one cup of coffee per day. However, I have given up sodas and other bad things.

I'll keep you posted, if you like, on improvements resulting from my new plan.

Thanks :)
